Global Economic impact of Corona Virus
Immediate effects of Covid-19
Since the time the COVID-19 outbreak, it has affected over 200 countries. WHO (World Health Organization) in January 2020 announce the Pandemic. All of a sudden that led to shutting down many businesses. Stores, services airports all over the world remained closed for a period of time. Estimates so far indicate that Covid-19 restrictions could trim global economic growth by 3.0% to 6.0% in 2020. Furthermore we witness a global economic recession. We witness unseen unemployment rate since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
Long term effects of Covid-19
Obviously no one was prepared for such a situation. Serious annalists agreed that economic recession was going to rise levels of poverty and increase social unrest. On the other hand global trade could also fall by 15% to 30%. Of course there will be some specific differences from country to country. However the full impact wouldn’t be known until the effects of the pandemic peak. And assuming there is not a second wave of infections.
Life goes on regardless Corona virus
Now we start slowly realizing that everything comes and goes. For better or worse our lives had changed. Certainly we have to keep going with some new realities like social distancing, face masks etc…
As a response to new challenges each Canadian province developed a “Return to safe operations Plan”. However essential part of it is a enhanced cleaning and disinfecting. There are some of the recommendations:
- Additional time between all appointments to allow for proper cleaning and disinfecting.
- Cleaning and disinfecting workplace frequently throughout day, between clients, and at end of day.
- Reducing the amount of retail products on shelves for easier cleaning.
- Cleaning and disinfecting all tools and equipment between each client.
